Cut, Paste, Create: Designing Memorable Zine Workshops Online
Recently within the LIS field there has been increased interest in zines, zine libraries, and zine creation programs. Zines are an exciting way to encourage patrons’ self-expression, research skills, or even contribute to a community archive. In this session, two University of Washington MLIS Capstone students who have spent the last several months researching, planning, and facilitating zine workshops will share their experiences and facilitate discussion around delivering the most exciting, accessible, and engaging zine programs possible. This webinar will also include access to a zine workshop “toolbox,” which contains information about successful facilitation and material considerations, as well as zine templates, examples, and links to events around Washington State. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions and share their own experiences with zine making or workshop facilitation. This workshop will be recorded.
