Third Thursdays Trustees Topics-Relationships with Friends and Foundations Online
Third Thursdays Trustee Topics is designed as a 30-minute live session with Sara Jones, the Washington State Librarian, and Library Boards/Trustees, Directors, and subject matter expert guests. This will be followed by up to 15 minutes of questions and answers.
The conversations will be recorded and available to replay to boards, trustees, staff, and at events.
The question-and-answer portions will not be recorded.

The June 15 Conversation will be with Deborah Doyle, President Elect of United for Libraries and and Library Commissioner in Sonoma County CA.
Deborah Doyle, chair of the Sonoma County (California) Library Commission, has been elected 2023-2024 United for Libraries President. Doyle will serve as president-elect under 2022-2023 United for Libraries President Dr. Gordon Baker.
Deborah Doyle currently serves as board member at large on the United for Libraries Board of Directors. She is a writer, editor, and fundraiser as well as an active library advocate at local, state, and national levels. She played board and staff roles at Friends of the San Francisco Public Library and was actively involved in helping to create San Francisco’s well-funded modern library system.
She has served as president of the California Library Association (CLA) and is the only person to receive CLA’s President’s Award twice — the highest honor given to an individual for significant contributions to libraries. She currently sits on the ALA Committee on Legislation and the CLA Advocacy and Legislative Committee and chairs the Sonoma County Library Commission. She is treasurer (and a past president) of California Public Library Advocates. She also chairs United for Libraries’ Public Policy & Advocacy Committee. Deborah holds a BA from University of Virginia (high honors) and an Executive MLIS from San Jose State University.
